Charitable Dallasites dress for success at stylish Light the Runway kickoff
To kick off this year’s festivities, Dress for Success Dallas threw a Light the Runway kickoff at Aria Stone Gallery in the Dallas Design District.
Guests — including Dawn Mellon, Lisa Petty, Scott Murray, Neale Jones, Phyllis Comu, Shona and Arlo Gilbert, and LeeAnne Locken — sipped custom cocktails by Deep Eddy Vodka, light bites by Bone Daddy’s and sweet treats by Tart Bakery while a rockin’ DJ provided the background tunes.
A raffle for handmade jewelry by Shona added some excitement — and put another $1,000 in the coffers for Dress for Success Dallas, to help fund its women’s empowerment programs.
Event chair Janet Fresquez shared details with the group, including the theme for this year’s father-daughter fashion show: “Garden Party Rocks.” The fundraiser will be professionally produced by Harriet Kelly Gibbe and will feature local celebrities and their daughters sporting the latest fashions.
In keeping with this year’s theme, Light the Runway, set for May 15, will be held poolside at the elegant home of Faye Briggs, who has one of the most beautiful backyard escapes in Dallas. Tickets, tables and sponsorships can still be purchased online.
Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
