A fashionable Dallas crowd assembled at West Village to celebrate the grand opening of Abi Ferrin’s flagship store, which the local designer called a “dream come true.”
“It is a dream come true for us to be able to open our own store and present our brand and creations to our hometown as we envision them season after season,” she said. “Women will get a first-hand experience and be personally and directly impacted by our unique designs.”
Guests — including Jan and Trevor Rees-Jones, LeeAnne Locken, Maxine Trowbridge, Imran Sheikh, Lisa Blue Baron, Jan Strimple and Brian Bolke — browsed Ferrin’s designs while sipping on cocktails provided by Park Place and Brown Forman and noshing bites provided by Chef DAT and Paciugo. DJ Blake Ward revved up the scene with his signature tunes.
The Abi Ferrin flagship looks a bit like an art gallery, with its chic mix of art and clothing. Sculptor Brad Oldham created the signs and door handles exclusively for the brand and helped curate the look and feel of the interior. The new sculpture collection of Ro Diaz is on display through June, and the one-of-a-kind pieces are available for sale from the store with 50 percent of the proceeds going Ferrin’s Freedom Project.
Ferrin said the future of the company is all about expansion while retaining the core values and designs that have made her clothes such a success.
“In the future we expect to open more stores and expand the brand globally,” she said. “We are making great progress nationwide in the marketplace with partner boutiques and look forward to continuing to support these stores as well.”
