1. Rihanna cancels Dallas concert at American Airlines Center. Just hours before Rihanna was scheduled to hit the stage, officials from Live Nation announced she would not make it to her April 16 appearance at AAC. No surprise, really, because the pop star had already canceled shows in Boston, Baltimore and Houston. She has vowed to reschedule.
2. Cane Rosso White Rock gets burglarized twice even before it opens. According to owner Jay Jerrier, thieves broke into his new pizza joint April 11 and then again early Sunday morning. They made off with valuable equipment, including an espresso machine, prosciutto slicer and two tea urns. "What are you going to do with tea urns?" Jerrier wondered.
3. Art, fashion and Downton Abbey spoof dazzle at Untitled: Art Ball 2013. The charitable gala benefiting the Dallas Museum of art was so spectacular no name could do it justice. Aside from artful gowns, oodles of art, and ambience created by star event designer Todd Fiscus, a Downton Abbey spoof dubbed Downtown Artsy made this an affair to remember.
4. 16-year-old arrested for bomb threats at Highland Park High School. University Park Police arrested a 16-year-old Highland Park High School student for a rash of false threats against the campus that started in January. The teen — whose name was not released because he is a minor — has reportedly been charged with 17 felony counts of making a terroristic threat.
5. J.R. Ewing gets parting shot on Dallas season two finale. With blackmail plots, frame-ups and more double crosses than two chimps playing tic-tac-toe, the season finale of Dallas finally answered some big questions. Among them, who shot J.R. Ewing? The answer is he shot himself. Well, sort of.
