Fundraising in Dallas is serious business. So is fashion. And on the social circuit, the two go hand in hand, especially at events like Art Ball.
At the Dallas Museum of Art’s signature gala, the attire may be black tie, but it is never boring. This year, ladies turned to color, pattern, and texture to make their fashion statements — or all three, as was the case with DMA board chair Catherine Rose and Art Ball chair Rebecca Enloe Fletcher.
Rose, who wore a white gown accented with graphic red-and-black flowers at the neckline and on the skirt, with gray stripes on the full sleeves, always stands out in this crowd. Fletcher’s coral, floor-length, one-shoulder gown with geometric gold embroidery on the skirt and sheer sleeve was designed by Nardos.
Speaking of Nardos, designer Nardos Imam glowed in a lime green gown with fitted bodice and full ball skirt — one of her own, of course. It’s no wonder many Dallas women turn to her to outfit them on these occasions.
Pink was a popular choice, as well. Those who wore it best include Catherine MacMahon, in Rosie Assoulin and YSL; Lynn McBee, in a two-tone number from Giambattista Valli; and Margaret Solomon, in Zandra Rhodes. But the prettiest in pink was Elaine Agather, in a short, flirty design by Paskal.
Also spotted in Paskal was Meredith Bayoud, while Lisa Cooley chose Michael Faircloth. (Husband Clay held his own in a standout tux with cobalt blue jacket and white bow tie.) Two of the more colorful women in the room were Claire Gogel, in a yellow embroidered silk-organza gown from Erdem, and Cindy Brown in a feather-print Mary Katrantzou.
Surprising no one, the best dressed among the men was Ceron, in Alexander McQueen. Is there ever a time when he doesn’t look fabulous?
