Another new restaurant, this one Mexican, will join the fold at the Ilume building on Cedar Springs Road in Dallas. Called Xamach Mexican Cuisine & Bar, it comes from an established restaurateur and is targeted to open by the end of the month.
Xamach is the brainchild of Leticia Sañudo, who owns La Paloma Taqueria in Richardson. According to a spokesperson at the restaurant, the cuisine will be authentic Mexican, including tacos and enchiladas. It will feature a xamach, a round griddle for tortillas.

The restaurant's opening was delayed slightly when it had to obtain a variance, because it was so close to Sam Houston Elementary School.
It joins Cedar Springs Tap House, which is also going into the ground floor of the Ilume, along with the already open Dish and Ai Sushi Sake.
Jill Tiernan of the Retail Connection, which is helping lease the space, says that in addition to the coming-soon restaurants, there are more on the way.
"Once Monica Greene closed her place, we've had this whole clean slate," she says. "The Onyx nail salon has expanded, and we have the Ilume Gallerie. We're real excited about the opportunity to have brought in Tap House and Xamache, and we're working with another concept now."
One big game changer is the fact that the building will have 100 parking spaces for dining and retail. "Parking has been a problem for Cedar Springs, so we feel like it's going to be great for the neighborhood," she says.
Xamache will be on the ground floor of the Ilume on Cedar Springs.
