Can we get a yee-haw? Lone Star Beer is launching pretty much the most Texan event ever: a free festival celebrating Texas music, Texas food and — you guessed it — Texas beer.
On Thursday, the National Beer of Texas announced the first-ever Lone Star Beer Texas Heritage Festival, coming to four cities this summer.
The celebration will visit San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and Austin in August. The music lineup includes Old 97's, The Black Angels, Grupo Fantasma, Dale Watson and LaTasha Lee & The BlackTies. Additional local acts will be announced for each city's lineup.
The Dallas stop is Saturday, August 22, at Gilley's. A "Texas-sized assortment" of food, drinks and activities (live mural painting, a photo booth and carnival games) will round out the Lone Star experience.
Admission is free and open to those 21 and up. The festival will also release a limited number of $25 tickets for guaranteed entry to the event. Ticket proceeds will benefit the North Texas Food Bank.
