And So It Begins
First-time event sends Dallas Symphony debutantes off to the races
What: Dallas Symphony Orchestra League Honor Guard Polo Cup
Where: Prestonwood Polo Club
The 411: The 2017 Dallas Symphony Orchestra League debutantes were honored at this first-time event, where the debs, honor guard, and their families watched polo games, enjoyed champagne, and participated in a traditional divot stomp sponsored by Bentley.
Before the party, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League introduced the 2016-17 debutantes during announcement weekend festivities that happened June 3-5. The weekend marked the official start of a season of events that will culminate with the 31st Presentation Ball, which will be chaired by Jolie Humphrey and DSOL president Sandy Secor and held February 18 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Presentation Ball honorary chairs are Harriett and Chuck Gibbs.
The Presentation Ball, first held in 1987 and started by longtime League member Tincy Miller, is the largest fundraiser for the DSOL and has raised more than $10 million to date for the DSO.
