Addison Tavern
Brother duo opens Addison tavern in time for summer tippling
Twin brother restaurateurs Mark and Dirk Kelcher, who've been circulating in the food and beverage industry since 1994, have a new tavern in Addison.
Called Ron's Place, it's a spin-off of Ron's Corner Tavern, which they opened in Bedford in 2013. The name comes from their uncle Ron, a beer enthusiast and beer can collector. They've adorned the rustic space with their uncle's beer can collection from his travels around the world. Surely that is worth seeing.
The Kelchers also own Delta Charlie's Bar and Grill, the city-owned restaurant that overlooks Dallas Executive Airport. Mark Kelcher ran Big Shots Sports Cafe, a sports bar in Bedford, where he learned firsthand the power of the local craft beer scene.
Ron's Place will go into a center on Belt Line Road at Midway, next door to the Hub Sports Bar & Grill. It'll have 32 beers on tap, plus lots of bourbon, scotch and whiskey.
The 32 tap beers will be in high rotation and all American-made, with a minimum of 12 Texas beers. On Thursdays, they'll do "pint nights," focusing on specific breweries with free pint glass giveaways.
"We have seen such growth here in the Dallas area," notes general manager Jesse Simpson in a release. "In the past five years, 35 breweries have opened in the Dallas/Fort Worth region."
Like the Bedford branch, Ron's Place will serve food as well, including nachos, cheese fries, wings, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, pizzas, pastas, chicken-fried steak and fajitas.
