The Dallas Museum of Art has announced the fall lineup for the 26th season of DMA Arts & Letters Live, 10 events featuring bestselling and award-winning authors, actors, acclaimed photographers, and journalists.
The season extension begins on September 14 with Ken Follett, making one of only three appearances in the United States. Follett will talk about his new novel A Column of Fire, a continuation of the series that includes The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.
The list of events, which will go through November, also features Pulitzer Prize–winning author Michael Chabon, who will discuss his new novel, Moonglow, and a first-time appearance by Dan Brown, author of The Da Vinci Code and Inferno, who will discuss his new novel, Origin.
Among the other participants will be renowned journalist Dan Rather, memoirists Roz Chast and Daniel Mendelsohn, biographer Walter Isaacson, and photographer Annie Leibovitz, whose Dallas visit is one of only four stops worldwide. Book signings will follow most of the author events; some programs will require a book to be purchased with ticket(s).
Prior to the start of the extended fall season, three events are happening this month. On July 18, Terry Tempest Williams will discuss her latest book The Hour of the Land: A Personal Topography of America’s National Parks at 7:30 pm. Kathy Reichs will discuss her popular novels, including her new thriller Two Nights, on July 19. Reichs’ own life and her hit crime novels are the basis for Bones, one of Fox network’s longest-running series.
Lawrence Wright’s 2007 Pulitzer Prize–winning book The Looming Tower established him as a leading journalist writing about terrorism in the Middle East. He will discuss his latest publication, The Terror Years, on July 25. It is a collection of 10 powerful pieces originally published in the New Yorker that examine the evolution of terror in the Middle East, from the rise of al-Qaeda in the 1990s to the recent beheadings of reporters and aid workers by ISIS.
DMA Arts & Letters Live has featured more than 1,000 authors, actors, and performing artists at numerous sold-out events since its inception in 1992.
