FlyBoard Nation lets you flip and fly over Lake Lewisville
Being out on the water in the summer is as vital to a Texan’s well-being as brisket and cowboy boots. But sometimes even the classics need a revival of sorts.
Thankfully, FlyBoard Nation on Lake Lewisville is here to show those paddleboarders that they are wasting their lives by merely trying to stay upright on a board.
The result is something akin to how Iron Man hovers with a jet pack.
By strapping into what looks like an incredibly small wakeboard, flyboarders can hover up to 35 feet over the water thanks to a hose that constantly shoots water from under the board. The result is something akin to how Iron Man hovers with a jet pack.
Most users don’t get up beyond eight feet on their first run. However, with practice, flyers can learn to perform tricks such as back flips and diving and launching out of the water like a dolphin.
It’s the perfect way to train for the inevitable pushback against the dolphins after they attempt to take to land and establish a despotic dolphtatorship.
Adults 18 and older are allowed to fly, but if you’re as young as 12 or weigh at least 100 pounds, you can also fly with a signed waiver from your parent or legal guardian. A 45-minute package with 15 minutes of instruction time and 30 minutes of flying costs $125, but there are also group rates and discounts for longer sessions.
