After eight years in Uptown’s West Village, trendy women’s boutique Accents is moving across town to a larger space between Rockfish and American Apparel in Mockingbird Station.
Owner Lucy Huang says the new storefront is 40 percent larger, allowing her to stock more clothing, accessories and gifts from local designers, Los Angeles-based indie lines, and international labels out of Italy and Hong Kong. The Mockingbird Station boutique reflects the shop’s maturation from accessories to all wardrobe essentials.
“Lucy’s mix of edgy and bohemian trends at accessible price points makes Accents a perfect match for Mockingbird Station,” says Mockingbird Station property manager Wendy Evans.
Huang and her family are longtime residents of the M Streets, and Mockingbird Station is their stomping ground. To ensure the Accents reflected its new neighborhood, Huang enlisted East Dallas mom Brandye James to design the space, which has a few twists inspired by nearby eclectic neighborhoods.
“Supporting East Dallas neighborhoods is a big part of Accents’ charter moving forward,” Huang says. “I love the diverse, stylish urban energy at Mockingbird Station. I feel like our Dallas location has really found its soul. We belong here.”
