Hail to the McQueen
Dallas socialites dress to thrill for Crystal Charity 10 Best Dressed Fashion Show and Luncheon
New York fashion week had nothing on the scene that unfolded midday Thursday for the highly anticipated Crystal Charity Ball 10 Best Dressed Fashion Show and Luncheon, held at the iconic Neiman Marcus downtown. With the smell of Peony and Blush Suede by Jo Malone in the air and the promise of unforgettable fashions to come, Dallas’ social elite gathered on the first floor of Neiman’s for champagne, white wine and lots of fashion eye candy.
Spirits were high as this year’s honorees — Tricia Besing, Nancy Carlson, Francie Moody-Dahlberg, Mary Clare Finney, DeeDee Lee, Patty Leyendecker, Lynn McBee, Pam Perella, Aileen Pratt, Christi Urschel and hall of famer Lisa Troutt — prepared to walk the runway in Alexander McQueen designed by Sarah Burton.
When the cocktail hour drew to a close, guests were escorted to a luxurious tent in the Neiman Marcus valet parking lot and took their seats at tables topped with magnificent floral arrangements by Rusty Glenn Designs. The runway show was unlike anything Dallas has ever seen, but we would expect nothing less from Burton, whom Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing has dubbed "feminine on the fringe" and "fantastically memorable."
It was impossible to distinguish the Best Dressed honorees from the other guests, as everyone in attendance was runway-ready, including such notables as Moll Anderson, Jim Gold, Tamara Bickel, Charlotte Anderson, Candice Romo, Brill Garrett, Sunie Solomon, Lucy Wrubel, Erin Mathews, Barbara Daseke, Robin McMonigle, Kim Miller, Mary Crosland, Brian Bolke and Jennie Reeves.
The Crystal Charity Ball, chaired by Caren Kline, is set for Saturday, December 7, at the Hilton Anatole.
