Gorditas in the Garden
A Sante Fe fabulous Mission Olé raises big bucks for Trinity River Mission
Hundreds of philanthropists dressed in their Southwestern finest gathered for the seventh annual Mission Olé fundraiser held at the home of Anne and Steve Stodghill. The benefit funds important programs at Trinity River Mission such as the Believe and Achieve Program, Tutor Power Hour, Kids Cafe, and Reading Buddies.
Fueled by Santa Fe Sunset cocktails courtesy of Tito’s Vodka and Wendy Krispin’s housemade gorditas, supporters bid high in the live auction, which was filled with swoon-worthy items like the Santa Fe package, complete with a two-night stay for two at the historic La Fonda, airfare from American Airlines, a gift card to Michael Kors, a custom necklace by designer Shona, and a Navajo-style stamped silver box with turquoise from Antèks.
But the hottest item, which was sold twice to two lucky bidders, was a trip for two to Banff Springs, Canada, courtesy of Laurie Sands Harrison, including a three-night stay at The Fairmont Banff Springs, airfare on American Airlines and a $400 gift card to Michael Kors.
Radney Foster provided a live acoustic set as guests — including Debbie Ryan, Robert Brackbill, Caroline Rose Hunt, Annette and Jim Browner, Angela and Doug Nash, Debra Nelson, Renee Rouleau, Holly Davis, Shay Geyer, Greg Kelminson, and Beverly Rice — nibbled on a selection of decadent desserts.
And as if this outdoor affair weren’t fabulous enough, co chairs Angela Choquette, Cary Deuber and Maggie Kipp announced that more than $143,000 was raised for the Trinity River Mission.
