Sarah Loiselle and Brandon Beville met at a game night through mutual friends, and sparks flew. The Texas A&M University alumni were seated next to each other, and the upcoming football season gave them plenty to talk about.
Numerous Aggie games and three years of dating later, and Brandon surprised Sarah with a birthday trip to College Station. Oblivious to Brandon's master plan, Sarah was perusing boutiques in historic Bryan, when Brandon dropped to one knee and gave her the surprise of her life.
Celebratory cocktails at Messina Hof winery followed, along with a romantic dinner at Christopher's World Grille.
"It was wonderful to have the whole weekend to ourselves in College Station to be together after getting engaged," says Sarah.
In Dallas, family, friends, and a whole lot of planning awaited — and the couple was anxious to get started.
Sarah envisioned something "small, intimate, and not fussy," and Gather McKinney fit the bill. A full-service venue, Gather planned, coordinated and catered the January 2017 event. The candle wall they provided created a focal point Sarah "couldn't stop looking at" all evening long.
Eschewing tradition, the bride and groom opted for pies from The Little Pie Kitchen in lieu of cake — and there were no complaints from their 130 guests.
"There were no leftovers" says Sarah. "People raved about them for weeks after."
The music also was a hit. Guests danced the night away to tunes from LeForce Entertainment DJ service, waving glow sticks all the while.
