No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party kicks off season with sweet soiree
AIDS Services of Dallas kicked off the ninth annual No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party fundraising season at Scott + Cooner, where guests were greeted by models dressed in Italian designer clothes and sunglasses — a nod to this year's theme, "La Dolce Vita."
A black Ferrari 430 Scuderia provided by Platinum Motorcars was also on display to give party patrons a taste of what will be auctioned off at April's main event. A two-day Ferrari rental? Sign us up.
Guests — including Don Maison, Don Neubauer, Constable Beth Villarreal, Stuart Boslow, Benny Black, Allyson Aynesworth, Naila Malik, Sally Francis and Tyler Kerbyson — noshed on bites from Hattie’s while DJ Mark Ridlen provided the vintage Italian music for this first No Tie get-together of the season.
The crowd wasted no time thanking this year's chairs stylist and interior designer David Nelson and Dennis Kershner, sales executive at Interior Resources. Last year’s honorary chair, Steve Kemble, turned over the reigns to the lovely and always philanthropic LeeAnne Locken, who will serve as the 2014 honorary chair.
The No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party is the largest fundraiser for AIDS Services of Dallas which provides housing and supportive services for low-income and formerly homeless men, women, children and families living with HIV/AIDS. The main event is set for April 12, 2014, at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
