Dallas facial junkies, brace yourselves: Renee Rouleau, aesthetician to the stars and founder of the skincare line that bears her name, recently spilled on social media that she and her husband (and doggies, of course) are moving from Dallas to Austin — and she’s taking her headquarters with her.
Rouleau says that the move to Austin is part of a three-pronged strategy. The first and obvious reason is that she has a large client base in Austin for both product and services. People have been asking her when an Austin expansion would happen.
Second, Rouleau travels to Los Angeles, New Orleans and New York to give facial treatments to a long list of A-list clients — including Demi Lovato, Susan Sarandon and Anna Faris — and with all of the music and film festivals in the Texas capital, many of those celebrities frequent the city. Rouleau says this is the perfect way to keep her clients’ skin red-carpet ready while they are traveling.
And, finally, Rouleau and her husband, Florian Oger, wanted a change of scenery. Hey, whatever keeps this beauty pioneer inspired, we support.
“New experiences are the reason we love to travel the world, and we are ready to dip our toes into something new,” Rouleau says. “We get energy from change, and Austin is attractive because of our active lifestyle. We ride motorcycles, my husband races vintage cars and we love spending time with our two dogs outdoors. Austin is a great place for all of this.”
But Dallasites need not fret. Rouleau is committed to her loyal Dallas customers and assures us all that we won’t even notice that she is gone. She vows to fly to Dallas monthly to work out of her One Arts Plaza spa.
For the majority of clients who rely on her expert staff members to care for their skin, Rouleau is leaving her Dallas and Plano spas in good hands.
“Roxie, my amazing spa director who has been with me for seven years, will continue to run daily operations for both spas as she has always done, and my talented team of highly skilled aestheticians will still be here,” Rouleau says. “We continue to cherish our Dallas clients as we always have.”
Although an official location for the Austin spa has yet to be announced, expect one coming soon, as Rouleau’s goal is to have her shop up and running in March 2015, in time for SXSW.
“As the CEO of my company, I have been and will always be the driving vision for my skincare products and services offered at the spas,” she says. “I am able to do this from wherever in the world I may be.”
