Bells are ringing
Brides-to-be marvel at Romona Keveza's magnificent gowns at Rosewood Crescent Hotel
When we received an invite for a night of bridal couture, cocktails and the chance to meet Romona Keveza — hosted by The Bridal Salon at Stanley Korshak, Rosewood Crescent Hotel, Hakim Sons Films and Todd Events — we quickly sent in our reply card, because watching Dallas brides get excited for their big day is as good as icing on a wedding cake.
The evening began with pink martinis, Champagne, wine and light bites at Hakim Sons Films in the Crescent. After an hour of anticipating the main event, ladies and a few gents— including Susan O'neal, Liza Dunsmore, Hussain Manjee, Drew Johnsen, Lauren Brundage, Tony Naaman, Kimberly Maunt, Anokhi Shah, Margaret Gragg, Crystal Frasier and Lindsey Perkins — headed to the hotel's Garden Room for an exquisite fashion show.
The room was idyllic, filled with ghost chairs, blue lights, draped ceilings and an oversized arrangement of roses. While future brides took their seats and refilled on bubbly, Korshak's Bret McKinney thanked all of the co-hosts and lovely attendees for coming. He also reminded guests to stay after the show for a special surprise.
When the music — tunes from Downton Abbey — started to play, models in Keveza's elegant evening wear and wedding gowns came glowing down the runway. Keveza, who had a front-row seat, stopped a few of the girls to untie ribbons and fix sleeves.
Throughout the show, swoon-inducing dresses — tea-length, red, white, black, blue, taffeta, tulle and embellished — solicited smiles from the audience.
At the very end, when all of the models had left the scene, McKinney called one of them back out. While she was still wearing a Keveza strapless princess gown, a handsome man walked up to her, got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. She said yes.
The crowd snapped photos of the newly engaged couple with their smartphones, then flocked to Korshak's Bridal Salon for wedding cake by Dallas Affaires Cake Company and Champagne toasts with the beloved designer.
