Dallas Art Fair Lineup
Dallas Art Fair gets even more international with new gallery additions for 2016
One of spring's biggest events just announced this year's lineup, and the diverse exhibitors are cementing our city's place as a global art hub. Dallas Art Fair, which runs April 14-17 at Fashion Industry Gallery, will welcome art from nearly 100 galleries and dealers, more than a third of them new to the fair.
“Each year, the Dallas Art Fair has presented an increasingly diverse roster,” says Dallas Art Fair co-founder Chris Byrne in a release. “This continues in 2016 with the participation of galleries from Dubai, Belgium, and Colombia."
That's right, 17 countries will be represented at the fair, with 19 of the 39 new participants hailing from outside America.
If you're a collector who's itching to get an advance look at the works, the preview (available with the pricey-but-all-access Patron Pass, which will run you $500) is April 14 from 11 am to 2 pm. That evening, the sparkly preview gala begins at 6 pm for those with the Patron Pass; start time for regular ticketholders is 7.
For the duration of the fair, general admission is $25 a day, or $20 for students and seniors. If you're the thrifty sort, get a three-day pass for $50 ($40 for the students and seniors). CultureMap is bringing back Professionals Day, during which some lucky enthusiasts can get in for free that Friday. (More to come on that.)
That week has also once again been dubbed Dallas Art Week, wherein Dallas Art Museum, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Contemporary, and the Goss-Michael Foundation band together for a succession of programming designed to show the world how artsy we are.
