Inaugural Dallas music and arts festival gains Grammy winner St. Vincent
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra's inaugural Soluna Festival, an 18-day event highlighting the symphony and other visual and performing artists, just got a little more glamorous with the addition of a performance by St. Vincent.
The Dallas native, who's coming off a recent Grammy win for best alternative music album, will perform at the outdoor Annette Strauss Square on Sunday, May 17. Because this is a special performance to tie into the festival, she will be joined by several Dallas Symphony musicians.
St. Vincent has earned much acclaim the past few years. In addition to her award-winning solo work, she garnered buzz by joining Talking Heads' singer David Byrne on the collaborative album and tour, Love This Giant.
“[St. Vincent's] genre-bending, boundary-breaking creativity ... embodies the spirit of Soluna, and we are proud to present her in Dallas,” said Jonathan Martin, Dallas Symphony Orchestra president and CEO, in a release.
Tickets for the St. Vincent concert, which are $35 for standing room/general admission, go on sale on April 2 at 10 am. ATTPAC members can buy tickets through Membership Services starting on Wednesday, March 25.
For anyone who's enjoyed bringing in their own drinks to Annette Strauss Square in the past, please note this concert will not be BYOB.
