Setting the Bar
Dallas Stylemaker and former Cowboys cheerleader sets the bar for fitness
CultureMap Stylemaker finalist (and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader) Nicole Bulcher and her sister, Erin, are on a mission to get you fit. The sisters are opening a new 3,000-square-foot Bar Method studio in Southlake in January.
This will be the 103rd Bar Method studio nationwide, but the first for Southlake — and the first for the Bulcher sisters. The new studio offers a variety of amenities, including a locker room with a private changing room; fresh towels; a complimentary coffee bar; a lounge area; and workout apparel by popular brands GoldSheep, Jiva, Beyond Yoga, and Alo, among others.
Launched in 2001, Bar Method is a ballet-inspired workout that leads to a strong, sculpted body. It strengthens and tones all major muscle groups, burns fat, and improves posture and flexibility. (Just look at Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Paquin, and Zooey Deschanel, all of whom are fans of the workout.) Classes are led by highly trained instructors who provide personal attention and ensure that exercises are safe and effective.
“Being a dancer and professional cheerleader, I’ve dislocated one of my knees several times, and have endured a lot of pain during practice and routines,” Nicole says in a release. “The Bar Method’s conditioning and stretching has become rehab for my knees and hamstrings, and I’ve become stronger and nearly pain-free.
“As a studio owner and a student, the Bar Method is the only workout I feel is efficient enough for my life, intelligent enough for my standards, and challenging enough every time to bring me back.”
To celebrate its opening, the Bar Method Southlake is offering a pre-opening special: $100 for six weeks of unlimited classes, or $75 for one month of unlimited classes. The public is invited to join the soft opening on January 7, from 7:45 am to noon. On offer will be Bar Method branded merchandise, membership sign-ups, and studio tours.
