Last month, healthy food-on-the-go outpost Snap Kitchen debuted its 10th North Texas location, at the corner of Lemmon and Oak Lawn avenues.
To celebrate its new digs, the company recently threw a grand opening party that attracted busy Dallasites seeking fresh and handmade meals — and perhaps a few folks looking for ways to keep their New Year's resolutions.
The bash also served as a sneak peek of Snap Kitchen's new menu items, which are set to launch January 15 and include Nashville hot chicken with mac and cheese, vegan chili, and pulled pork biscuits and gravy.
To help wash down the delicious food samples, guests paid a visit to the Deep Eddy cocktail station, manned by the glamorous Deep Eddy Bettys. The gals poured tasty sips infused with Snap Kitchen’s cold-pressed juices and assorted teas, such as the Lemon Boost, Ruby Mint Tea, and Turmeric Eddy.
DJ Brandon Moses spun the tunes while partygoers Shaady Ghadessy, Chris Gwilliam, Shannon Ballard, Stephen Maulden, Brian Shirley, Melissa Sperk, Elias Wilson, Alex Andrade, Denise Olden, and Neil Ylanan stocked up on favorites such as bison quinoa hash, grilled kale hoppin’ john, and curried chicken salad.
Snap Kitchen showed support for its new neighborhood by graciously donating 25 percent of the evening's proceeds to Resource Center, North Texas’ primary LGBT and HIV/AIDS service organization. In addition to partnering with local nonprofits for events like this, all Snap Kitchens donate non-purchased food to local charities. Snaps to that.
