Dallas police apprehend child predator after attempted kidnapping
Dallas police have arrested a suspected kidnapper and child predator. According to police, David Vincent Rodriguez, 41, matched the description of a man who attempted to snatch a child at an apartment complex at the intersection of Park Lane and Dale Crest Drive on March 17.
Around 7:45 pm Monday, a child told police "a man tried to take me." Witnesses confirmed the allegations; they chased away the would-be-kidnapper before officers arrived. Police set up a perimeter and apprehended Rodriguez.
After interrogating the 41-year-old Latin male, police determined that Rodriguez is also a suspect in an indecency with a child case. That unsolved offense occurred on March 15 in the 2200 block of South Buckner Boulevard.
Rodriguez has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child. Because police are still reviewing other cases and may bring additional charges against Rodriguez, they have requested the media not publish his mug shot at this time.
