Yoga for All
Park Cities studio We Yogis caters to practitioners young and old
A new yoga studio on Lovers Lane helps solve a pesky problem that many active parents face: Who can watch the kids while they exercise? In addition to a flexible schedule of classes taught seven days a week, family-friendly We Yogis offers childcare in the supervised Future Yogis room, so Mom and Dad can get in their precious downward-facing dogs.
Owners and parents of three Diana and Trip Rodgers have a singular goal: to create a welcoming place for people to practice yoga in a way that suits their busy lifestyles. The studio caters to practitioners of all ages, from toddlers to seniors.
Classes for adults include Yogis Power Hour, Yogis Bootcamp, Yogis Happy Hour and Rockin Yogis. The latter is a faster-paced vinyasa flow set to upbeat music, which helps develop strength, flexibility and endurance. Another class, Yogis to the Core, works to increase abdominal strength and improve posture.
For the kids, We Yogis offers Lil Yogis (suitable for children as young as 3) and Tween Yogis classes to teach younger practitioners the basics of movement and breath work.
We Yogis is also the only studio in Dallas with an infrared heating system, which heats objects in the room without raising the air temperature. And, like a good neighbor, the studio showcases work by local artists — including instructor Gina Dunn — sells juices from The Gem, and hosts the occasional trunk show for shop-on-wheels TrendZen.
