Suspected murderer and accomplice escape from North Texas jail
--
Around 8:30 am on April 2, two inmates escaped from the Hopkins County Jail in Sulphur Springs. Authorities believe that John Marlin King, 39, and Brian Allen Tucker, 44, are now on the lam.
King, who was in jail for a series of offenses related to a January 30 burglary, has a history of drug use and theft, though his criminal record dates back only to 2012.
Tucker, on the other hand, is a career criminal with a rap sheet of offenses from 1988 to the present. He was in jail on a 2011 capital murder charge and has previously been arrested for burglary and alcohol and drug-related offenses. Tucker was being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
Schools in Sulphur Springs are on lockdown as law enforcement search the area for the two men.
Another criminal recently went missing in North Texas. Convicted sex offender Alberto Morales eluded capture for four days in February after escaping police custody in Grapevine. Morales was shot and killed by authorities near Grapevine Lake on February 16.
