Off-duty Arlington police officer allegedly shoots man dead on party bus
An off-duty Arlington police officer was involved in a deadly shooting on a party bus around 1 am on June 22. Duncanville police responded to the scene of the shooting in the parking lot of Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen at 800 E. Hwy. 87.
According to reports, the officer was involved in "some type of altercation," which resulted in the shooting death of 45-year-old Juan May. The officer and May were guests on a party bus with about 20 other people.
No arrests have been made in the case, and the officer's name is not being released at this time. The Duncanville Police Department has asked Dallas County to lead the investigation.
In a statement to the media, Carmen Castro of the Dallas Sheriff's Department said the incident was "an ongoing criminal investigation."
