Pet of the Week
Maggie the playful pit bull mix has all the right stuff for her new family
From last week, Cinderella is still waiting for her forever home, but Optimus has been adopted. This week’s pet is Maggie, a 2-year-old, 57-pound pit bull mix.
Maggie is quite the looker, with a silky nutmeg-colored coat, copper eyes and cute pink mouth ready to shower you with kisses. She was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on September 17 after some good Samaritans rescued her from the streets and could not keep her.
This playful gal loves to get outside and run after birds and squirrels at the dog park. If the birds and squirrels don’t want to play, that’s fine; she is excellent at fetch. Maggie has previously lived with children and other dogs, and you can bring your current, vaccinated dogs to the shelter to meet her if you think she's a good fit for your family.
Besides her good looks and a fun personality, Maggie also has the smarts. She knows how to sit, and with you by her side, she is sure to learn many more new things. She has been spayed, heartworm tested (she’s negative) and microchipped, and she has received her age- appropriate vaccinations.
Come meet Maggie (#121326) today at the SPCA of Texas’ Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas at 2400 Lone Star Dr., near I-30 and Hampton Road. The center is open seven days a week, noon-6 pm.
