A $120 million mixed-use project is coming to McKinney. Called Hub 121, it'll be a 22-acre destination at Corporate Center Craig Ranch, with restaurants, retail, and entertainment, located at the northwest corner of SH 121 and Alma Road.

Developer Shane Jordan says in a release that it will have "wow" factor.

"We have a wow factor in the mix of uses that will bring customers to Craig Ranch and programming to keep them here longer," Jordan says. "People will come for coffee and yoga on the lawn in the morning, stay for lunch and shopping, and then dinner, live music, and a movie with friends."

Located at the crossroads of Frisco, Plano, Allen, and McKinney, Craig Ranch is a master-planned community whose elements include a golf course, fitness center, trails, and numerous residential options. It's home to the McKinney Corporate Center Craig Ranch, a 137-acre office park.

The first phase of Hub 121 will include a restaurant park in three clusters with rooftop decks and pedestrian walkways. They'll connect to Independent Bank's corporate headquarters and to the Parkside at Craig Ranch, a residential community with 2,500 units. There's also a 6,500-square-foot pavilion with a performance stage for live music and family movie nights.

The second phase of the project will have an office building, additional retail buildings, and a hotel.

Craig Ranch founder David Craig says this was the vision he and his partners had in mind all along. He also uses the word "drinkeries," which is unfortunate.

"This is a tremendous addition for Craig Ranch, and corporate America tells us it wants eateries and drinkeries within walking distance to headquarter locations," he says in a release. "With the additions of Hub 121 and the Craig Ranch Resort and Conference Center, we have all of the elements businesses look for to recruit and retain talent."

Hub 121 is located along the Sam Rayburn Toll Road, now known as the Blue Diamond Corridor. Construction on phase one will kick off in January 2018. The first restaurants will be open by January of 2019.
