Laptop beats love: Survey says access to technology trumps romance and finedining
We already know that there aren't a lot of needs that outpace our want for technology. After all, a third of young professionals consider Facebook access as important as air, water and shelter.
But according to a recent survey from the folks behind Phorce, people ages 22 to 34 the world over prefer power plugs to potential love affairs.
The survey found that 84 of female respondents would choose an airport seat next to an electrical outlet versus one near a potential love interest.
The international survey found that 84 of female respondents would choose an airport seat next to an electrical outlet versus one near a potential love interest.
Men were practically split on the choice, with 46 percent of male respondents choosing a seat next to an outlet instead of a prospective partner.
At cafes, where the choice was between an eatery with great food and coffee and one with power outlets, twice as many men and women preferred power to pastries.
The takeaway: If you're looking for love, sit next to an outlet. Win-win.
