Exercise and Smiles
Your kids can party like animals at this new-to-Texas entertainment center
Plano already has a rep as family-friendly, but it's about to get even friendlier with the addition of the first Texas location of Safari Run, a California-based company that specializes in improving kids' lives through fun, fitness, and nutrition.
Safari Run is located in Park West Plaza, on the northeast corner of the intersection of Coit Road and Park Boulevard. The family-friendly attraction with a safari theme provides fun play and activities for children of all ages.
To celebrate its impending opening, Safari Run is offering a free preview of the center on Saturday, June 18, as part of the larger Summer Fun Fest at Park West Plaza. The center is scheduled to officially open one to two weeks following the free preview.
Safari Run has games and obstacle courses centered on a track, plus a giant animal-themed jungle gym. The combination of slides, ladders, bridges, and tunnels helps kids build motor skills, cardio, strength, and confidence. Additional activities include an arcade, a separate toddler area, and a parents lounge with free Wi-Fi.
In addition to hosting private birthday parties, the center offers age-appropriate fitness classes throughout the year to teach children manners, facts about the human body, and nutrition and fitness skills. Kids can also attend summer and holiday camps to learn about health and fitness through interactive games.
Normal prices for the center are $10 per hour or $18 for two hours, with free admission for adults and children under 1. Discounts for open play are available with the purchase of multisession punch cards and memberships.
