Comedy Icon Returns to DFW
Bill Cosby and his sweaters make their way back to Fort Worth
Even though he just turned 76, Bill Cosby seems to be as busy as ever. Social media was all abuzz over his recent Best Sweater tournament, and he seems to tour almost as much as comedians half his age. Cosby will once again make a stand-up appearance in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this time at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth on September 24.
Although it's great to see him back, Cosby has been no stranger to these parts recently. He delivered the commencement speech to graduates of Paul Quinn College in May, and he performed a stand-up show at Winspear Opera House in 2012.
For a little more than a month, fans have been able to go to BillCosby.com and vote for their favorite sweater Cosby wore during the eight-year run of The Cosby Show. The winner, one depicting three runners on a track, was announced Monday on Today on NBC.
If you're unable to make this show, you can still catch Cosby in action: Comedy Central will air his first comedy special in 30 years, appropriately titled Far From Finished, as a Thanksgiving weekend event on November 24. His last comedy special, Bill Cosby: Himself, is one of the most renowned comedy concerts of all time.
Tickets for the Bass Hall performance are now on sale; they range from $45-$125, with some of the proceeds benefiting Tarrant County College Foundation scholarship funds.
