I'd Buy That for a Dollar
Dallas Arboretum dollar days offer cheap trip down the rabbit hole
The Dallas Arboretum is offering up the chance to explore its grounds for just $1 next month. The August Dollar Days program allows guests of all ages to enter the Arboretum in exchange for pocket change from 9 am to 5 pm. The $1 admission excludes parking.
Garden goers can explore Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland Flower Village. Four topiary flower houses show off the exploits of Alice, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat. On Family Fun Fridays, costumed actors help bring the stories to life.
Kids can also bone up on their history before classes start up again with the Adventures of Great Explorers. The exhibit shows off imitations of the journeys of Hernan Cortes Admiral Byrd, Ponce de Leon, Lewis and Clark, Captain James Cook and Marco Polo. Fun fact: Polo didn’t know how to swim and always resented people making a mockery of his name.
Dollar Days runs through the end of August, as always children under the age of 2 don't need a ticket to enter the arboretum.
