New Topgolf Swing Suite turns up in novel spot: a Dallas hotel lobby
A North Dallas hotel is debuting a bar with a golf amenity. According to a release, the Doubletree by Hilton Dallas - Campbell Centre is opening what will be the first Topgolf Swing Suite in a DFW hotel.
Topgolf Swing Suites is the newest extension of Topgolf, combining a simulated Topgolf experience but located inside hospitality and entertainment venues.
Players hit golf balls that provide feedback on your shot's accuracy and distance. You get extra points for hitting targets.
Other Swing Suites can be found in locations such as the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno, Nevada, and the I Play America amusement park in New Jersey.
The Doubletree facility will include two simulator bays that can accommodate up to eight guests each. Each bay comes equipped with a massive screen and the following:
- a selection of interactive virtual games, including a simulated Topgolf experience
- a selection of golf courses
- baseball pitching
- hockey shots
- quarterback challenge
- zombie dodgeball
All conveniently located inside a hotel lobby. What will they think of next.
While the two bays can serve up to 16 guests total, the Swing Suite will feature a common area with lounge and cocktail seating for larger parties up to 36 people.
Food is also available, including appetizers and small bites from 82fifty Restaurant and Bar, the hotel's in-house restaurant. Their menu of shareable items includes flatbreads, epic beef nachos, and the trio of hot chicken sliders.
There'll also be an array of Dallas-themed cocktails and other beverages from the 82fifty bar.
General manager Michael Walzl says in a statement that they're thrilled to bring the first Topgolf Swing Suite to the Dallas area, calling it a "one-of-a-kind simulation experience for hotel guests and Dallas locals alike."
It'll be open late: from 3 pm to midnight during the week, and 11 am to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
It ain't free. Rentals of a typical Swing Suite are usually by the hour, with rates starting at $40 during off-hours and up to $75 per hour during prime time.
Play is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The only way you can reserve in advance is for private events, including group meetings, birthday parties, or other social gatherings.
