State Fair of Texas announces free concert lineup for 2019 season
Your ears will be gifted with everything from rock 'n' roll to country and jazz to R&B at this year's State Fair of Texas, thanks to the free Lone Star Music Series.
Each day, a range of Texas musicians are playing on four stages across the fairgrounds — in addition to the headlining concerts at the Chevrolet Main Stage — and all concerts are included in the price of your Fair ticket.
In fact, this series gives you the chance to hear more than 45 different musical acts during the Fair's 24-day run, all of whom are local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Concert times and locations for each stage are as follows:
- Bud Light Stage: Centrally located in Cotton Bowl Plaza, the Bud Light Stage has daily performance times at 12:30 pm, 3 pm, 5:30 pm, and 8 pm.
- Coca-Cola Stage: Nestled in the heart of the Midway, the Coca-Cola Stage is featuring Fort Worth-based, eco-friendly band Vocal Trash daily at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm, and 6 pm.
- Dr Pepper Stage: Find the Dr Pepper Stage on Nimitz Drive beside the Creative Arts building, with daily performances at 11 am and 1 pm, 3:30 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm.
- Texas Monthly Stage: Located inside the State Fair of Texas Wine Garden, the Texas Monthly Stage offers a mix of musicians, stand-up comedy, and jazz artists curated by Uptown Jazz Dallas. Daily performance times vary, with most concerts at 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. Stand-up comedy is from from 7:45-9 pm, and a harpist plays from 5-9 pm.

There will also be a sneak preview of three Bud Light Stage acts on August 23 at the Granada Theater. Hosted in partnership with Dallas-based State Fair Records, the event will serve as a dual-album release show featuring Ottoman Turks and The 40 Acre Mule, with a special appearance by Squeezebox Bandits.
Tickets for this event, named Wild Ride at the Granada, begin at $8 and a portion of the proceeds benefit the State Fair's Big Tex Scholarship Program. Head here for more information and to purchase your ticket.
This year's Fair runs September 27 through October 20.
