Kanye West and Jay Z to light up Dallas stage in upcoming tours
Kanye West and Jay Z famously teamed up for a stop at American Airlines Center in December 2011 as part of their Watch the Throne Tour. Two years later, the two music stars head back to the venue, this time on separate dates: West on Friday, December 6, and Jay Z on Sunday, December 21.
West's tour, which stops in 23 North American cities from mid-October through early December, will be his first solo tour in five years. It'll also be the first chance his fans have to hear songs from his new album, Yeezus, live and in person. Kendrick Lamar will serve as opening act.
Jay Z, who no longer uses a hyphen in his name, thankyouverymuch, is just about to embark on a seven-week jaunt to foreign countries for his Magna Carter World Tour. He'll take a month off before spending another nine weeks traveling around North America, with the Dallas date falling almost smack dab in the middle of that.
It'll be a virtual family reunion at the AAC in December. Justin Timberlake, who teamed up with Jay Z for a recent summer tour, will make a stop there on December 4, and Jay Z's betrothed, Beyonce, will make her second stop of 2013 there on December 9.
While some of the dates for West's tour go on sale on September 13, his concert in Dallas has yet to set an on-sale date. Meanwhile, tickets for Jay Z will go on sale Thursday, September 12, with the usual pre-sale opportunities, including this one through Facebook.
