Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers celebrate 40 years with Dallas concert
Iconic band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will come to Dallas as part of their 40th Anniversary Tour in 2017, stopping at American Airlines Center on Saturday, April 22, along with special guest Joe Walsh of the Eagles.
The Dallas date is the second concert in a North American tour that starts in Oklahoma City on April 20. The tour, which includes 31 cities so far, will include two other Texas stops: Houston on April 29 and Austin on May 2.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers released their self-titled debut album in 1976. Forty years later, they've released 13 albums together, including 2014's Hypnotic Eye.
To further commemorate the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, the group has released two companion vinyl box sets featuring their entire studio album repertoire. All LPs in the limited-edition box sets have been pressed on 180-gram vinyl with replica artwork. Several of these albums have been out of print on vinyl for years and most albums have been remastered for this release.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 16 at 10 am local time through Ticketmaster.com. Special pre-sales for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Highway Companions Club members will begin Wednesday, December 14.
