Charming shop with all things British opens emporium in Richardson
The most British spot in Dallas-Fort Worth is expanding: The British Emporium, the charming Grapevine shop that sells all things British, has opened a second location in Richardson at 635 W. Campbell Rd. #308.
According to a release, the store opened in November. It marks a welcome return to Richardson for the British Emporium. The shop previously opened what was originally intended to be a short-term “pop-up” location inside Fish & Fizz, the fish & chips restaurant owned by famed Brit chef Nick Barclay. But the partnership worked out so well that British Emporium stayed in that location until a lease agreement issue forced both businesses to tragically close in early 2023.
This time, the Richardson location will just be the British Emporium. It's next to Chocolate Angel Café & Tea Room and near K1 Speed Indoor Go-Karts and other businesses, making this location a perfect match for the British Emporium.
The timing is also perfect: Just in time for Christmas, the new location will allow customers to stock up on popular traditional British foods like Christmas puddings, Brandy butter, mince pies, crackers, and more.
The British Emporium opened in Historic Downtown Grapevine in 1992 and has been the gathering spot for expat Brits and Anglophiles ever since. Many longtime customers are from the North Dallas/Richardson/Collin County area and can now have easier access to their favourite foods and unique gifts from home.
“We're excited to be back in Richardson and to serve the British community in the North Dallas and Collin County area,” said Sheela K. Bailey, owner of the British Emporium. “We met so many customers during our two-plus years in that area that we knew we needed to find a way to return to Richardson. Now, those customers do not have to travel to Grapevine and can stock up on essential British groceries and gifts. We truly appreciate the community's support of our family businesses. Shop small, shop local, and come see us in Richardson."
