Beyoncé follows the Super Bowl with surprise Dallas reveal
Beyonce turned the lights out at the Super Bowl. And now she's making big plans.
How do you follow up a performance on America's biggest stage? Well, if you're Beyonce, announcing a mammoth world tour that includes high-profile visits to Dallas and Houston is just the ticket.
Beyonce is taking the world by storm with the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, a extravaganza that begins in Belgrade, Serbia on April 15 and includes more than 20 European stops and shows in more than 20 cities in North America.
Unlike at the Superdome in New Orleans, you can expect American Airlines Center to find a way to keep the lights operational.
Houston's pop superstar is actually visiting Dallas before H-Town — with a July 6 date at American Airlines Center. Beyonce will be in Houston for a Toyota Center show July 15.
The tour ends up at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the arena her husband Jay-Z (the Mr. Carter) christened in September and the one where the NBA team in which he has an ownership share (the Brooklyn Nets) plays.
This is the new mom's first multicity, full-time tour since 2009. Tickets to Beyonce's American Airlines Center show go on sale February 11. It's sure to be one of Dallas' hottest concert tickets of the year.
Ticket brokers were already buzzing about the date even before the official announcement, which came shortly after Beyonce stepped off the stage with Destiny's Child in the wake of that weird "Single Ladies" collaboration.
