Dallas is one of 3 cities to peek highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2

Dallas will be one of the first cities to get a look at the new Nintendo Switch 2.
Dallas gamers will among the first in the world to get to try out the highly-anticipated console Nintendo Switch 2 at an in-person experience taking place April 25-27.
Nintendo Switch 2 is the successor to the Nintendo Switch system, which was originally released in 2017.
Dallas is one of only three U.S. cities where Nintendo will hold the Nintendo Switch 2 experience; it will also visit New York and Los Angeles earlier in April.
Experiences will also take place in Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea, and China.
Tickets for the experience, which will be at the Embarcadero Building at Fair Park, will be made available through a free-to-enter, randomly selected drawing at nintendo.com/us/nintendo-switch-2-experience.
The registration window will open on Friday, January 17 at 2 pm local time. Fans will have until January 26 at 11:59 pm local time to register; registrants will be notified of the drawing results soon after. A free Nintendo Account is required to enter.
The release date for Nintendo Switch 2 is only listed as sometime in 2025; with other experiences scheduled through June 1, it's reasonable to expect the on-sale date to be sometime during the summer.
Nintendo put out a first-look trailer for the new console, showing it to be significantly larger than its predecessor, as well as offering a variety of design upgrades. The console will be capable of playing original Switch games in addition to new games.
Nintendo will release more details on Nintendo Switch 2 on Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, April 2.
