Headington Companies adopts another retailer into the Dallas family

The Headington Companies continues its inexorable march into world domination with the acquisition of TenOverSix, a high-concept store founded in Los Angeles featuring a collection of emerging fashion, design, printed matter, and art.
The acquisition consolidates Headington Cos.' retail interests, both in Dallas and expansion markets, and allows it to refine its focus on emerging designers worldwide.
The company previously acquired Forty Five Ten in 2014.
TenOverSix co-founder Kristen Cole has been appointed president and chief creative officer of Forty Five Ten and TenOverSix. In this dual leadership role, she will pioneer a vision for store designs, brand identity, and designer matrices; usher Forty Five Ten into the New York market with the March 2019 opening in The Shops at Hudson Yards; and spearhead the imminent TenOverSix opening in Miami.
TenOverSix opened its first location outside Los Angeles in the Joule Dallas Hotel in downtown Dallas in 2014.
Co-founder Joe Cole will continue his role as a creative consultant-at-large for Headington Cos., working in hospitality, restaurant concepts, interior design, retail, branding, and programming.
In her new position, Kristen Cole will create expansion opportunities for additional brick-and-mortar locations, oversee a digital transformation for both TenOverSix and Forty Five Ten, and oversee all creative aspects. The goal is to build new concepts, partnerships, and programming across the portfolio.
In a release, Cole says she's excited to refine and expand on the two brands.
"Headington Cos. and I have strong alignment on the core vision for where we are going across fashion and design: experiential, elevated, beautiful, directional, concept-driven, and fun," she says, displaying some of the elocutionary skills that surely helped make her an appealing candidate to run the whole show.
Prior to her appointment with Headington Cos., Cole was creative director for Austin-based luxury retailer ByGeorge. She drove sales increases and updated the designer roster to include names such as Vetements, Sies Marjan, Rosie Assoulin, Jacquemus, Khaite, and Brock.
TenOverSix is known for its gallery-like setting, dominated by white display plinths and fixtures under bright lights.
The products carried at TenOverSix come from an elite level of talent across fashion, design, printed matter, and art, sourced primarily from New York, Paris, Los Angeles, and other cities around the globe. The selection rotates within approximately 150 designers, artists, and publishers.
