Where the Boys Are
New menswear shop untucks itself in Uptown's West Village
It’s all about the men these days at West Village, which is about to get yet another menswear store, with the opening of UntuckIt. While the brand specializes in men's button-down shirts designed to be worn, well, untucked, it also features everything from polos, T’s, and henleys to vests, sweatshirts, outerwear, and sport coats.
The general idea behind the brand is that a shirt shouldn't look sloppy or unkempt just because it's not tucked in. Hence, these shirts are designed to fall halfway between the belt and the bottom of the zipper, so that the front pockets of the pants are partially exposed (i.e., not overly long and baggy). The shirts also have a tailored curved hemline rather than a square bottom, and they are finished with a nice signature sail on the shirt tail.
The West Village location boasts 1,810 square feet and is located along McKinney Avenue. It joins other men’s stores like Allen Edmonds, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Daniel Taylor Clothier, J.Crew, Lucky Brand, Q Clothier, Rye 51, and Suitsupply. Basically, Dallas men have no excuse not to dress well with all these shopping options.
This is the second Texas store and first Dallas location; the first UntuckIt opened in New York City in 2015. There are now six stores total for the former online-only company.
