Roving Style pop-up shop brings cool fashion to hot events
Christie Sheffield always had a passion for fashion. After working in marketing, public relations, event planning and even styling some rock stars, the Dallas-bred fashionista decided to let out her inner gypsy.
Sheffield recently launched Roving Style, which combines her two loves: fashion and events. The pop-up shop brings the fashion party to the hottest beach-side, art-filled and music events throughout the United States, from Art Basel in Miami and Celebrity Surf Tournament in Malibu to the Hamptons and Pebble Beach. Roving Style rolls into The Foundry in Dallas on Saturday, June 22, from 6-10 pm.
"[The inventory] is very on brand, for the ACL or Coachella girl," says founder Christie Sheffield.
The shop carries well-known, on-trend designers from all over the world, including A.L.C., LnA, Alice + Olivia, Kymerah, Finders Keepers, Clover Canyon and Made Her Think jewelry. The prices, however, are significantly less than what you'd find in stores; think $20-$150. And, unlike discounted designer websites like Gilt or Hautelook, Roving Style's merchandise is current season.
"[The inventory] is very on brand, for the ACL or Coachella girl," Sheffield says. But she also adjusts the stock to suit the demographic of the event and occasionally adds menswear to the mix.
Roving style's "cargo box" (similar to the Illy shipping container house, which you may have seen in New York City) is currently in production. In the meantime, Sheffield says they're just roving around the U.S. and setting up shop under a tent.
