It's a Scandal!
The Limited makes it possible to dress like TV's most scandalous star
Washington, D.C. fixer Olivia Pope may be a fictional character, but her status as fashion icon is very real. And The Limited is banking on it.
A selection of looks worn by starlet Kerry Washington on the hit ABC series Scandal are heading to the women's retailer this fall. The 42-piece collection includes wide-leg trousers, fun but professional blouses and signature outerwear in a neutral color palette with touches of soft, feminine color. Prices range from $49-$248.
"The collection is a nod to our devoted fans, to fans of fashion and to women everywhere who are inspired to boldly pursue their passions and look good while doing it," Washington said in a statement.
Not all of Pope's outfits are part of the line, but costume designer Lyn Paolo pulled a number of pieces from the wardrobe, in collaboration with Elliot Staples, The Limited's head of design. According to Women's Wear Daily, Washington also helped with the design process, including picking buttons and choosing fabrics.
"It's been really fun to have a voice at every stage of the production," she said.
The Limited is touting the collection as "the first-ever design collaboration between a national retailer, a top-rated network TV show, its costume designer and leading lady." The line arrives in late September, at all 250 Limited stores nationwide and online.
