Where to Shop Now
Where to shop in Dallas right now: 8 must-hit stores for August
This month we are honoring readers and their parents who are going back to school by featuring a collection of shops that are as well-rounded and unique as a brand new box of crayons. And don't forget about Texas Tax-Free Weekend 2019, happening August 9-11, when shoppers can score all kinds of back-to-school goodies, sans tax. Check your favorite shopping mall for extended hours so you can shop without dropping so much cash.
Here are eight new stores, great sales, and exciting shopping events to check out this month.
Billy Reid
Billy Reid is hosting a rare warehouse sale August 9-18 that promises up to 70 percent off of both men's and women's clothing. The sale hours will be 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 pm Sunday. Find it at 1802 McMillan Ave., Dallas.
Charming Charlie
Sadly, the favorite brand for colorful statement necklaces and scarves will close the doors to all of its stores August 31. Shoppers have until then to help clear out the merchandise, as everything must go. Look for rock-bottom prices on favorite trinkets in these final few weeks. Online orders are no longer being taken.
Diamonds Direct Frisco
The direct diamond importer and leading U.S. independent jewelry retailer is fresh off a grand opening celebration at its newest location in Frisco and is ready to fulfill North Texas' bling needs. The store is located on level one of the Stonebriar Centre and is the second location in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Elizabeth W
This fashionable Highland Park boutique debuts an exciting new contemporary brand this month. Lake Studio offers a sophisticated collection of chic slip dresses and bold silhouettes, and to date, it's only available for purchase in four boutiques in the United States. A trip to this boutique is an excuse to shop an exclusive brand.
Jimmy Choo
Whether you are starting a new semester of graduate school or want to reward yourself for surviving a summer off with your children, August is the perfect time to treat yourself to a new bag. The latest and greatest shoulder bag from Jimmy Choo in Highland Park Village boasts the updated JC logo. And there is something about the Cuoio suede that makes you want to drink a pumpkin spice latte and long for cooler temps.
Nicole Kwon
The favorite West Village "it" girl boutique is trading in its tiny digs for something a little more spacious down the street. And until that move actually happens, shoppers need to run (don't walk) to take advantage of massive sales on everything left at the original location. Score up to 80 percent off clothing, shoes, and accessories.
Savannah Bee Company
This Southern belle opens its doors at NorthPark Center on August 15. The store's goal is to support honeybees and beekeepers around the world, and the product line is as expansive and impressive. Think specialty honeys and honeycomb, artisanal food and beverages, body care products, and home goods. It's located on level one between Nordstrom and Macy's.
Tuft & Needle
Also opening on level one between Nordstrom and Macy's, this Phoenix-based brand is set to begin doing business at NorthPark Center on August 23. The refreshing, new-to-Dallas company sells high-quality mattresses without pushy salespeople.
