So Long Lublu
Dallas designer boutique bids farewell to Plaza at Preston Center
Lublu Kira Plastinina, the U.S. flagship retail store from Russian-born designer Kira Plastinina, will close at the end of August.
The fashion boutique opened at the Plaza at Preston Center in 2013, when the SMU-trained Plastinina was only 21. It quickly became a fashionista go-to with its inclusion of a “fast fashion line,” which is in stores throughout Russia, and the high-end line, Lublu, which means “I love” in Russian.
A statement gives no concrete reason for the closing, other than the company is undergoing a “strategic rebrand that requires a pause in retail activity.”
“It has been such a wonderful experience having our flagship store in Dallas,” said Plastinina in the release. “The decision to close the store was not easy, as I feel that all of our clients are family. The company appreciates your loyalty, and we hope you will follow us as we move into our next big venture.”
