Fall Fashion Trends
5 fall trends every fashionable Dallasite must follow
With every season change comes the excellent excuse to refresh your wardrobe. Where autumn is concerned, that also means updating your makeup and accessories. Not sure where to start? NorthPark Center has you covered, starting with the next Style Saturday on September 17.
Beginning at 1 pm, NorthPark Center’s fashion and lifestyle ambassador Kimberly Schlegel Whitman walks you through fall’s biggest trends, complete with a fashion presentation featuring the looks from NorthPark’s top contemporary retailers. And if you can’t wait that long, here’s a sneak peek at some of this season’s hottest must-haves.
Skinny cuts are out, and culottes are back in. Yes, culottes: the wide-leg, cropped trousers we haven’t seen in a while. “Every busy but stylish woman needs a tailored pair of wide-leg trousers cropped just below the calf,” Whitman says. “Look for pairs with crisp tailoring and elevated accents, like eye-catching buttons going down one leg.”
What’s the go-to shoe for either of these looks? A lace-up, pointed-toe pump, preferably in a striking jewel tone. Deep purple is going to be your new neutral, replacing predictable black, especially in wardrobe staples such as coats.
And speaking of outerwear, don’t shy away from fur. “There is nothing more glamorous than pulling a fur, either faux or real, over your shoulders,” Whitman notes. “Look for a deep, rich, colorful tone that will feel current but still become an heirloom.”
To top it all off, a ’90s trend is making a comeback. Brown lipstick complements fall colors and all those deep jewel tones while adding a bit of drama to your look.
So come prepared on September 17 to shop all your soon-to-be favorite looks; the event takes place on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Many NorthPark retailers are doing in-store events, discounts, and promotions during Style Saturday, for an entire day of shopping fun. Check out the NorthPark Center website before you go.
