Dickeys New Denim
Big Tex designer does denim right with country star Canaan Smith
Fort Worth work apparel brand-name Dickies has launched a new line of jeans called the Dickies Denim Collection, and has retained a dreamy celebrity sure to make us forget all about Big Tex: Nashville country music star Canaan Smith.
"Dickies Denim Collection jeans not only look good but they can withstand the rigors of my nightly performances," says Smith, whose debut album Bronco just came out on Mercury Nashville.
Unlike the outfit Dickies made for Big Tex, which required 134 yards of fabric, the new Dickies Denim Collection features seven fits, from slim to loose, with straight and tapered silhouettes, all in lightweight ringspun fabric. Multiple wash options from light to dark deliver a worn-in, authentic look and add softness, comfort, and character.
Signature details include an "x" stitch, leather logo patch and "w" stitching on the back pockets represent the brand's parent company, Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. The product line also offers several styles in flex ringspun twill, featuring similar worn-in washes.
"Denim has been an integral part of Dickies' DNA since our founding in 1922," says Williamson-Dickie VP Brian Sheedy in a release. "Today, we continue this legacy by ingraining Dickies' signature details and quality into a line of modern jeans perfect for work and casual wearing."
The collection is available on Dickies' website, Amazon.com, JCPenney, and other apparel retailers nationwide.
