Cute millennial-style boutique opens first Texas location in West Dallas
A small boutique chain from Ohio has opened its first location in Texas, with a new store at Sylvan | Thirty. Called Vernacular, it's a growing women's retailer with apparel, jewelry, and lifestyle products where you can find everything from trendy, seasonal clothing to gifts to home accents.
The photos on their Facebook page are dominated by ensembles consisting of jeans, loosely woven sweaters, and chunky-heeled boots. One attractive coat is only $68. They also sell jewelry and home goods.
Husband-and-wife co-owners Kris Konieczko and Chelsea Cabot zeroed in on Dallas after making frequent trips to Dallas Market Center for their existing locations. The duo became familiar with West Dallas, which felt like a home away from home.
"Opening a store outside of Ohio has always been on our radar, and we've grown very fond of Dallas in the last few years," Cabot says. "The atmosphere at Sylvan | Thirty fits our company’s vision and has made this transition feel natural for us."
This venture is not only a first for Vernacular, it also marks Sylvan | Thirty’s first clothing retailer. Located on the south side of the development, the store has a bright and airy interior filled with youthful and contemporary decor that incorporates native Dallas plants into the design.
The couple founded the company in Columbus, Ohio, in 2013, immediately after college, with a desire for approachable and authentic high street shopping with a friendly, laid-back staff. Their motto is to bring their "East Coast classic with a West Coast vibe" style to a broader audience at affordable prices. They opened a location in Atlanta in March.
