Kendra Scott Expansion
Texas' reigning bauble queen settles on location for new Dallas shop
It’s hard to believe that Kendra Scott started her jewelry business with just $500 and a mini-collection. That was 2001. Now the Austin-based designer has a multimillion-dollar brand sold at national retailers such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus and more than 1,000 specialty boutiques worldwide.
She also has 17 eponymous U.S. stores and an 18th on the way, at the Plaza at Preston Center. The new Kendra Scott boutique, her fourth in Dallas-Fort Worth, will be located between Lublu and Double R, in the space vacated by Aftershock London.
Fellow Texans and celebrities alike — including Sofia Vergara, Vanessa Hudgens, and Jenna Bush-Hagar — are fans of Scott’s bold designs, which have filled many a charity party swag bag (including ours). Famous for her Color Bar, where girls can customize their own pieces, Scott also launched a Luxe Collection last year, which has a more special-occasion feel.
“[The designs] take what people love most about Kendra Scott to a level that is truly unparalleled, with avant-garde design, elevated techniques and genuine stones,” she said of her Luxe Collection.
The newest Kendra Scott boutique is slated for an early 2015 opening, probably March. For now you can shop her stores in Uptown’s West Village, Plano and the newest in Fort Worth.
