Russian-born designer and SMU student Kira Plastinina took her fashion to the streets — of New York City, that is, for a photo shoot with master photographer Tommy Ton, known for his street-style fashion photography.
Ton shot Plastinina's LUBLU fall 2013 collection on location around the Big Apple, including Central Park. Plastinina recruited famed fashionistas — including local trendsetter Jessica Olsson Nowitzki, associate director of the Goss Michael Foundation, pictured here — to serve as models for the campaign.
Other notable ladies in her shoot were Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller; Candice Lake, former model and London-based photographer; Nasiba Adilova, fashion journalist; Miroslava Duma, former editor of Harper's Bazaar Russia; Claire Distenfeld, owner of Fivestory; and Danielle and Jodi Snyder, sisters and founders of of Dannijo jewelry.
Ton also photographed Plastinina wearing her designs.
After a glimpse of her line on real women, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the LUBLU U.S. flagship store, set to open in Dallas this spring.
