Dallas home decor favorite named best furniture store in United States
IBB Design Fine Furnishings recently stole the show at the 25th annual ARTS Awards held at the Hilton Anatole: The Frisco-based home retailer was named the best furniture store in the United States.
The awards, held every January and hosted by the Accessories Resource Team and Dallas Market Center, is the premier awards program dedicated to the home industry.
“The ARTS Awards are like the Academy Awards for the home furnishings industry,” says Shay Geyer, partner and designer at IBB Design, which we recognized as one of the best local furniture stores too. “To have been nominated by our peers as a finalist is humbling, and we are beyond grateful. Being named best furniture store in the country is a title we intend to live up to.”
Founded more than 30 years ago by Geyer’s mother, Beth Rafferty, IBB Design has grown from a design firm into a 40,000-square-foot store and resource center offering some of the best-looking home decor on the market. But it still retains its designer roots.
“No one wants their home to look like their neighbor’s house,” Geyer says. “With a staff of 24 designers, we can help clients achieve a design that reflects their personal taste and lifestyle, whether it be traditional, contemporary or transitional, or another design style.
“Listening to clients and problem solving to formulate a design that is functional for their family and also beautiful is thrilling to me. I love seeing the look on a client’s face when we reveal their finished project to them on installation day.”
If you recognize Geyer, it is likely because she is as busy on the Dallas charitable circuit as she is with her business. She also welcomed us into her home office — outfitted with furnishings from IBB, naturally.
